The Hermitage School District is accepting applications for the following positions for the 2016-2017 school year:
Early Elementary Literacy (K-3) Program Facilitator/Interventionist
Elementary/Mid-Level Literacy (3-8) Program Facilitator/Interventionist
These literacy positions carry the following expectations, at a minimum: (a) Analyze data to identify the needs of student and address weaknesses through curriculum modifications; (b) Design a PLC focused on improving student achievement; (c) Provide small group/one-on-one interventions with students; (d) Collaborate with teachers and leaders on the state of the literacy program and progress towards meeting the district literacy goals; (e) Communicate with all stakeholders; (f) Be knowledgeable and well-trained in comprehensive literacy best practices, which are based upon initial research used in the development of Reading First in Arkansas; and, (g) Attend district-requested professional development on literacy initiatives, ELLs, etc. A Master’s Degree is preferred, but applicable training and exemplary practice will also be considered. Additional contract days will be provided to attend/lead professional development and work on program goals; however, the exact contract length is to be determined.
Positions are open until filled. At a minimum, employment eligibility requirements are to be over the age of 16 and provide a driver’s license and social security card or other documentation of eligibility to work in the United States of America. Applicants for certified positions must have appropriate certification with the ADE, or eligible to obtain such. All applicants must be willing to undergo background checks and other screenings as required by the Hermitage School District.
